FirstFiveYears CD The FirstFiveYears CD is so named because it contains the best music tracks from the first five years of the Alphawave Music Project. It is a 64 minute CD with ten tracks and some genuinely classic Ambient, Dark Ambient & very Uplifting cuts! With the recent 'FirstFiveYears' CD there is a tiny potted history of the first five years of the Alphawave project. First Five Years - full vsn is a press friendly version in more detail that can be downloaded as a Word doc or a .pdf There is also a 21mb RealVideo file which has the full length video for Solar substance Sea - in albeit a tiny screen size, still fun though! Here is some of what is in the full 'FirstFiveYears' download Word pdf: "Alphawave was an idea born out of the long term desire I had to make music that wasn’t dominated by voice - nor limited by traditional song structures of verse/chorus etc. Not to say that there is anything wrong with a good tune. Tunes are of great interest and desire to me - they open up the whole experience of emotion within music. I have always resented the
space taken up by voice in popular music forms, even though a singer myself!
- However I have recently reviewed this opinion in the light of singing
again full time! I have always had a yearning to hear the sounds and not
the ‘folk story’ vocal line. Voice of course can be just another
sound element but in many cases I found the space taken by the vocal –
and the background value of the instrumentation – really annoying!"
